In this Vriksasana pose, the body's weight is shifted to one leg while the entire sole of that foot remains in contact with the floor. The right knee is bent and the right foot placed on the left inner thigh. The hips should be open, with the right knee pointing toward the right, not forward. With the toes of the right foot pointing directly down, the left foot, center of the pelvis, shoulders and head are all vertically aligned.

International Women's Day event, co-hosted by Sree Renga Healthy Living Centre, at Blessings Matriculation Hr Sec School.
Twenty five women donated hair each, at least 8 inches in length towards making wigs for patients undergoing Chemotherapy. Additionally, a cash donation Rs.50,000 to cover the costs of making 10 wigs was made by Ms.Sofia Rachel, Principal, Blessings Matriculation Higher Secondary School to Cancer Institute (WIA), Adyar, Chennai. Dr.Vidhubala from Cancer Institute (WIA) sensitised the audience re: the significance of this activity and the medical diagnostics available for women today to screen early and cure life-threatening health conditions such as Cancer.
Elaborating on the theme of Preventive Health, Dr.Anuradha Pichumani from Sree Renga Healthy Living Centre, Chengalpattu discussed the various conditions affecting women across the age spectrum and encouraged the audience to proactively undertake essential health tests periodically.

Eating healthy is important to help prevent Type 2 diabetes and to avoid the serious complications of diabetes. A healthy breakfast can help individuals manage their weight and, for people living with diabetes, keep blood glucose levels stable.
To highlight the importance of healthy food choices, the World Diabetes Day 2014 campaign is asking everyone to GO BLUE FOR BREAKFAST in November by organising a healthy breakfast activity in their local community. The initiative promotes the benefits of starting the day with a healthy breakfast.
